Obituary

Leonard David Dachman, 84, beloved husband of the late Rhoda; loving father of Carey (Gail), Ronald (Debbie), Kenneth (Lynn) and Michael (Angie); cherished Poppi of Jeffrey (Arielle), Michelle (Neal), Lauren, Kelsey, Gina (Gary), Jillian, David, Jacob and Maxwell; adored great grandfather of Ellie, Sylva, Cecelia, Macey and Alice; dear brother of the late Robert, Norman and Jack; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. Leonard was a lifelong painter and worked part time as a Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy. He served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Local Painters Union 521 from 1978 to his decision to retire this past week. Leonard took his responsibilities seriously and filled his position with honor, integrity and humility. His passion for his job was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Chapel service Friday 10 am at the Beth Shearim Mausoleum Chapel, Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. Following the service, the family will receive calls of condolence at the home of Carey and Gail Dachman until 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
